How To Throw A Cuban Party With Cuban Food

How To Throw A Cuban Party With Cuban Food

Whether you are assembling a prom party or a regular party, you'll find that the job of feeding a lot of hungry kids appears a little frightful. Instead of spending a lot for typical party foods like chips, drinks, etc. you can put together your own food with our great menu ideas, saving you lots of money. The prom or party can have any number of themes but it is's usually something tropical. What better way to throw a party with great Cuban food?

Try this great Cuban food idea! Make lots of Cuban Sandwiches for the children to chew on between dance routines! You may also put together a Cuban fruit platter with wonderfully cut and sliced fruits (like mango, pineapples, and other tropical fruits) for the kids with a sweet tooth. All proms and parties have drinks as well, so don't be afraid to mix in some guarapo drinks or pina coladas for the adults! It's a mix of Ice cubes, 3 oz sour cherry syrup, a two litre of orange soda and orange slices for garnish. This drink is completely tropical in flavor and OK for an unusual themed prom and party!

How to Make Cuban Sandwiches

You will need the following to make these sandwiches for promenade : 4 individual Cuban bread loaves, four big spoons butter, 1 pound shaved roasted pork, 1 pound shaved smoked ham, 1/2 pound cut Swiss cheese, 1 cup cut dill pickles and a waffle iron or 2 hot pans.

Heat the pans. Slice bread loaves in half. Spread butter on each side of each bread loaf. Layer roast pork, ham, Swiss and pickles between each of the chopped bread loaves. Place sandwiches in one hot pan, and place the bottom of the other hot pan on top so that the sandwiches are compressed and cooking on both sides. Cook for 2-3 minutes and serve. Make sure you don't burn the bread! This makes four whole sandwiches or 8 half sandwiches for your prom guests.
